Summer Session I (May 24-June 13, 2020)

Join us for a voyage into the distant past. Along the way we will travel to Iron Age, Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Viking, and Norman sites and museums in Great Britain. Hike a section of Hadrian's Wall; enter ruinous Roman forts and soaring Norman castles and churches; visit Roman towns, villas, and amphitheaters; and study archaeological artifacts. This journey will allow us to study the peoples, events, and palces that forged the unique English character.

This study abroad program will emphasize the importance of knowledge sharing; every student will research and present to the group a site or artifact, and these will be augmented by on-site introductions by expert guest scholars and archaeologists from British universities.
