Marielle Wijnands

Marielle oversees financial aid and scholarship coordination, student advising, and responsibilities related to student services.

She is originally from the Netherlands,  but grew up in Rome, Italy, while attending an American International School. Her professional experience includes working as a mental health psychologist with specialization in autism in The Netherlands for nearly 20 years.

She also served as a liaison at Leiden University, where she developed and taught post-master courses for graduate psychology students. She received a M.A. in Child and Adolescent Studies from Leiden University. Her foreign langues include: Dutch, English, German, Italian, and French.

Marielle's international experience includes:

• Foreign exchange student, Salem High School – Salem, VA
• 2 Erasmus Study Abroad Programs – Ghent, Belgium and Padua, Italy
• Post-Master’s Internship, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital – Edmonton, Canada
