Emily Schwartz manages Virginia Tech's faculty-led program portfolio and provides support in the program design, proposal process, departure, implementation, and re-entry stages. She works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators across academic departments as well as external stakeholders to support Virginia Tech's faculty-led global education programs, assist in the development of new programs, and provide advising services to students related to the portfolio.

Prior to her role in GEO, Emily worked in Student Affairs at Virginia Tech. She has experience in residence life, living-learning programs, and partnering with faculty to support residential colleges at Virginia Tech.

Emily had the opportunity to study abroad twice throughout her time in undergraduate and graduate school — both of those experiences were faculty-led programs. She spent a semester in Scotland and attended a summer program in South Korea. She has been to nine different countries and loves traveling. Emily is passionate about intercultural learning and creating robust student experiences outside of the classroom.
